Help with setup
The extension cannot find TasteMate
Open the installed desktop app. Go to Browser extension → Chrome → Connect, then try the check again. If you moved the app after connecting it, open it again to refresh the connection.
I installed the extension, but the page cannot detect it
Use the Chrome profile where you installed TasteMate Capture. Make sure the extension is enabled, then refresh this page. Older development copies may need an update before they support this website’s check; you can still confirm the connection by opening the extension.
macOS says the app is damaged or cannot be opened
Use a signed installer from this page when one is available. Remove the old app from Applications before installing the replacement, and keep your profile folder. If a new installer is blocked, report the version and macOS message using the support link below.
Where do my screenshots and annotations go?
New libraries are stored in Documents/TasteMate. Existing Taste Atlas libraries keep their original location. TasteMate shows the exact folder in Use with AI agents. Back up that entire folder to keep your examples and images together.
Unfinished captures stay in your browser profile until saved or discarded. Removing browser data can remove those unfinished captures.
Can I install this on a phone or use another browser?
This installation flow is for a desktop computer with Chrome. TasteMate does not currently have an iPhone or Android app. Safari and Firefox extensions are not available.
Do I need to keep the desktop window open?
No. Once connected, the extension can save through the installed app’s helper while the main window is closed. Keep the desktop app installed.
